What is it

Three conditions.
One shared cause.

Genetic blindness at 23C refers to optic nerve conditions, where the nerve that carries visual signals from the eye to the brain is underdeveloped, damaged, or deteriorating. Conventional medicine has no treatment that addresses the root cause.

Stem cells can regenerate nerve cells in the optic nerve, giving patients the possibility of recovering vision that was previously considered permanent.

ONA

Optic nerve atrophy occurs when the optic nerve is damaged, causing partial or total loss of vision as visual signals can no longer travel freely from the retina to the brain. ONA can arise from demyelinating, inflammatory, ischaemic or traumatic origins including glaucoma, optic neuritis, and Leber hereditary optic neuropathy. Our protocols have been treating ONA since 2007.

ONH-SOD

Optic nerve hypoplasia (ONH) is the leading cause of congenital blindness, occurring in approximately 10 in every 100,000 live births. Septo-optic dysplasia (SOD), also known as de Morsier syndrome, is a subtype of ONH. It involves underdevelopment of the optic nerve, pituitary gland dysfunction, and absence of the septum pellucidum. In addition to vision loss, SOD can cause pituitary deficiency, autistic behaviours, and epileptic seizures. Most cases arise from genetic abnormalities.

RP

Retinitis pigmentosa is a group of inherited retinal disorders in which the light-sensing photoreceptor cells of the retina progressively degenerate — causing night blindness, gradual loss of peripheral vision, and, in advanced stages, central vision. Conventional medicine currently offers no cure. Cell therapy is studied for its potential to support the surviving retinal cells and slow further deterioration.
